Racheal lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with one child who does not attend school. She does not look after any other family members.
She has been selling charcoal from home on a retail basis for four years, working seven days a week. She does not have any other source of income.
She has requested a loan of 400,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT-SACCO to enable her to buy more sacks of charcoal for sale. Her challenges include seasonality, and sometimes, the charcoal is damp. Her dream is to be able to start selling wholesale.
She joined MCDT because of the timely loans. She stays in a rented house without access to electricity but with piped water. Her major monthly expenses include transport and school fees.
