They live in parts of Cuenca, a city of modern and colonial agriculture, and a World Heritage site since December of 1999. Its people maintain their cultures and traditions.

María Alexandra is one of the members receiving her fourth loan with her friends and colleagues in the communal bank. She lives in the Totoracocha neighborhood of Cuenca and she is a very happy friendly lady.

María Alexandra is 27 years old, married and has an eight year old son who attends school in the city. Her husband is a professional graphic designer. They don’t have a home of their own, but live with a relative.

She is a hardworking and enterprising woman who works in various activities, one of which is selling pajamas. She’s been doing this for 10 years. She also works in the print shop with her husband and has been a professional teacher for three years.

She will use the money from this loan to buy pajamas to continue her business.

El banco comunal Las Profes se encuentra conformado por 7 socias y 1 socio quienes en su mayoría se dedican a laborar en la docencia pero para mejorar su estabilidad económica trabajan en diferentes actividades económicas como el comercio, todas las socias del grupo son mujeres que tienen un gran carisma, son alegres ya que siempre están buscando un buen motivo para sonreír. Viven en diferentes lugares de la ciudad de Cuenca, esta ciudad es una mezcla de la arquitectura moderna y la colonial, es desde Diciembre de 1999 Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, su gente aun mantiene la cultura y tradiciones de sus pueblos.

Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señora. María Alexandra, se encuentra realizando su cuarto crédito con sus amigas y compañeras que conforman el banco comunal Las Profes, vive por el sector de Totoracocha en la ciudad de Cuenca, es una mujer amable y muy alegre.

La Señora María Alexandra tiene 27 años, es casada y en su unión conyugal ha concebido un hijo de 8 años de edad que esta estudiando en una escuelita de la ciudad. Su esposo es un profesional ya que es diseñador grafico, no tienen casa propia por lo que vive en casa de un familiar.
