Annet is married and has five children, four of whom go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (father). She has a business of selling charcoal and has been in this business for eight years. She sells to all categories of people on a retail basis. She has applied for a loan of 400,000 UGX from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. She also generates additional income from working as a cook at the nearby school. Her major business challenges include transportation and seasonality. She is aspiring to become a wholesaler and also to buy a delivery van to help with transportation. She resides in her own house, and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and medication.
