Mgeni is 35; she is a person with values such as honesty, humility, respect, and hard work that were emphasized by her parents. These qualities have shaped who she is, and have allowed her to set an example for her four children. She has a vegetable stand in her home which she has operated for about five years.
She is requesting a loan from Yehu so that she can buy more fruits and vegetables like tomatoes, greens, onions, potatoes, etc. Her work requires great sacrifice, yet she performs her duties with great care, since she knows that she will be able put food on the table each day.
Mgeni dreams of opening a kiosk in the future. She is confident in the work she has achieved, and will use her earnings to pay for the education of the children who are still dependent on her
