María is a 29-year-old woman from the Ecuadorian moorland who works hard and delights in spending time with her beloved family. She is married and has a daughter who lives with her. María loves the countryside and has farmed and raised livestock since she was a child.

She is applying to FODEMI for a loan to buy sheep to raise and sell. She says her work is difficult, but she does it lovingly because the business is a family tradition and, when one puts effort into it, the returns are great. María's dream it to have a small farm with a lot of livestock to raise and sell in the local markets. With her earnings, she will give her daughter a good education.
