For more than 13 years, Marcelina worked at making shoes. There was a lot of competition however, and she had to give up this business.

Three years ago, together with her daughter, she decided to sell music CDs and DVDs as well as to make labels for their storage cases, and to sell these wholesale.

She currently has two sales points in central Lima. Her daughter is in charge of delivering the labels, and she also sends requests to the provinces. The loans she has applied for have been used to pay for printing costs for the labels.

Marcelina would like to have a computer store, which her brother-in-law has told her can be a profitable business.

Translated from Spanish by Molly Puglisi, Kiva volunteer.
