Mariamu is 33 years old. She is a woman who is very dedicated to her home. She owns her own business, selling charcoal to the neighborhood and thanks to that, she has everything she needs to live. She lives with her husband and their son in a house they rent which has both piped water and electricity.
The business is in her house. She is asking for a loan to stock up her store even more and to buy a larger quantity of sacks of charcoal so she can serve her customers better and improve her sales to get her family ahead. She also wants to become an example for other people due to her great wish to get ahead.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
