Originally from a village of Battambang province’s Moung Russey district, Pov is aged 49 years and married. For more than 26 years, she and her husband have been farming rice and growing pineappleto make a living. They can earn about KHR 21,000 per day, and manage to save about KHR 15,000 each day for future needs.

Pov’s group is comprised of two members who live in the same village. Pov is on her third microloan from VisionFund. She fully repaid the past loans, which helped her to better support her family with enough food. As the leader of this group, Pov is going to use her portion of this new loan to buy fertilizer for her farmland and to pay costs of harvesting rice. She hopes to get a high yield from her crops, so as to improve her standard of living.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
