Jemuel's main source of income comes from his coconut/banana production business. He is 41 years old and single but has 3 children. He is from Campo 1, Aurora, and has been in farming for 3 years, earning 8,200 PHP a month. In 2011, Jemuel joined GDMPC. Jemuel is requesting a loan of 20,000 PHP, which will be used to buy farm chemicals. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
