Anselma plants, harvests, and sells corn to make a living. She is from Campo 1, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur. She is 51 years old, married, and has 10 children. Anselma been in the farming business for 26 years and earns PHP 10,000 a month. In 2011, Anselma joined GDMPC. Anselma is requesting a loan of PHP 20,000, which will be used to purchase fertilizers such as manure. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
