Roberto Carlos
Roberto is 40 years old. He lives in the city of Chincha with his wife and son, whom he loves and who are his main reason for living. He is a very friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic person who dedicates all of his efforts towards providing for his family.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of financial resources and the need to begin working, Roberto could not study a professional degree, but he would have very much liked to do so. In his free time, he likes to watch television, and sometimes he cooks a delicious Ceviche (a marinated seafood dish) to share with his family.

By his own initiative and with plenty of effort and dedication, Roberto makes a living as a construction worker. He works for about ten hours every day, beginning in the early morning. He is happy with his work and he believes that it is going well because he has finished his projects well and because he treats his clients in a friendly manner.

Roberto is very grateful for the Kiva lenders, because thanks to their help he will be able to buy construction materials, such as sand, cement, bricks, and others. These will help him to construct the roof of his house. He will then be able to provide his family with better security and well-being. He will continue working and putting in effort to make his greatest dream come true: to finish construction on his house.

About Caja Rural Señor de Luren

Caja Rural Señor de Luren is a microfinance institution based in Ica in southern Peru that primarily promotes the development of the country’s agricultural sector through lending. Today, it also offers credit for consumers, microenterprises and housing improvements, and has expanded its financial services to promote micro-savings and provide micro-insurance. About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
