Julio lives with his wife and two children. He does everything in his power to provide what is necessary for them to succeed, and he makes sacrifices daily so that they can have the opportunities that he never had. For this reason, he works every day as a construction worker. He works for about 8 hours a day, although sometimes he works more depending on the type of construction he is doing. He believes that he is successful because he is very responsible and thorough in his work.
Julio is very grateful for the Kiva lenders, because thanks to their help he will be able to construct a bathroom in his home. Currently he only has a latrine, so he will now be able to improve his family's quality of life. He will continue working every day to make his greatest dream come true: for his children to have a good profession and to see his house completely finished.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
