In the district of Santiago, a district characterized by its vast green landscapes with the agriculture in the area, lives Victor. He is a very hardworking and humble man who little by little has been getting ahead despite adversity. He lives with his wife and their 3 wonderful children and Victor would give his life for them and his daily sacrifice is to give them the opportunities that he didn't have. That is why every day he works as a laborer at a farm located in his district. He works around 8 hours a day but when there are plantings he works extra hours to have some more income. He believes that he is getting ahead in his work because he is very responsible and careful at his work.

Victor is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to the help they have given he will be able to do some home improvements since little by little he has been building it out of bricks. He still has to build rooms and put on a roof. This way, he will be able to improve his and his family's quality of life and keep working every day to make his biggest dream come true: "give his children a good education and see his house be completely finished."

Today, it also offers credit for consumers, microenterprises and housing improvements, and has expanded its financial services to promote micro-savings and provide micro-insurance. About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
