A citizen from a rural village of Battambang province’s Thmor Koul district, Nget is aged 51 years and married. She has five children to take care of and one of them is a dependent and still in school.
To feed her family, she has worked hard as a rice farmer on four-hectares of farmland for seven years and she also raises pigs to better feed her children. The current business earns her about 40,000 KHR per day.
Nget has been a member of VisionFund for three loan cycles and completely paid back the past loans which have helped her to better support her family with enough food. Now she is asking for a new loan of 2,600,000 KHR to buy feeds for nourishing pigs. Nget hopes to fatten her pigs so as to sell them for a good price to increase her family’s income and make a living better.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
