Sinat is 49 years old and the married mother of four children, two of whom are dependents. Her dependent children work as mechanics to help support the family. Sinat lives in a rural village of the Battambang province’s Sangke district. Her family earns an income from rice farming and sometimes working for others for a fee. Sinat has been a farmer for the past ten years. She earns about 46,000 KHR each day and is able to save about 10,000 KHR daily for future needs. Sinat has received five previous loans through VisionFund that she has used to improve the living standards of her family. She has successfully repaid her loans.

Sinat is the group leader of a four-person loan group. She will use her portion of the loan to buy fertilizer for her farmland and also to buy spare parts for her children's business. In the future, she hopes to increase her income and improve her family's living standards.

The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
