Gerry, a resident of Clarin, Misamis Occidental, is 35 years old, married, and has operated his own motorcycle to earn a living for the past four years, earning an amount of PHP 6,000 each month.
Gerry joined GDMPC in 2011 to gain access to financial services. He is now requesting a loan of PHP 11,000 to purchase a motor headlight and other spare parts for better service. When he gets enough funds, he will buy a vacant lot for farming in order to earn more income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
