Louel lives in Gata Daku, Clarin. He has earned his living by providing transportation services for 3 years; with this money, he provides for the needs of his child. He gets an income of 4,000 PHP a month from this business. For a 29-year old father, there’s nothing more that can make him happy except to see his child successful in its studies. Without hesitation, Louel is borrowing 10,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to repair his transport vehicle for his business. He joined GDMPC in 2010. His plan in the future is to hopefully improve his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
