In this Group: Noreen, Deeba, Samina, Bushra
Noreen is a 46-year-old hardworking house wife. She lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan with her husband, two sons, and two daughters. She has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. Her husband has been running a grocery store in the market in which he is selling rice, pulses, beans, and flour. This store is the only source of income for the family. Currently the stock of rice of his store is finished therefore he wants to purchase rice packs for his store. But due to the financial constrain he finds it difficult.

For that his wife Noreen, as member of a 4-person lending group, has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to purchase rice packs for her husband's grocery store. This will help her husband to satisfy the demands of customers and to increase his savings as well.

Noreen is hopeful that the loan will be a productive one for them. She is very much thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
