"Nurul Hikmah 5 " is a group of 6 people whose members live in the same village but have different businesses. The group's leader, Asih, is 40 years old and has one child still at Senior High School.

Asih has been selling some kinds of cooked food beside her house since 2002. This business has been running well until now. From this income, she can provide her family's daily needs and help her family near her house. Her dream is to have her own house and have an employee to help her cooking.

Asih and the other members of the "Nurul Hikmah 5" group are requesting financial support from VisionFund Indonesia for the 2nd time so that they can increase their working capital. Asih will use it to buy rice, seasonings, chicken and fish. The rainy season is her obstacle to selling her food. The other members have a laundry business and sell cookies and soft drinks.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
