Roena is from Villalin, Pana-on, Misamis Occidental. She is 43 years old, married, and has two children. To make a living, Roena has operated a general store for 13 years. She earns 8,000 PHP a month.
In 2010, Roena joined GDMPC. Now Roena is requesting a loan of 20,000 PHP, which she will use to buy items to sell in her store, such as shampoo, soap and toothpaste. She plans to use the additional profit generated by the business, to improve and expand her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
