On her own initiative and with a lot of effort and enthusiasm, Estefany works as a farmworker on a farm in her city. She works every day from early in the morning and can do it for approximately eight hours. She's comfortable doing her job and believes it's going well for her because of her good performance and her friendly treatment of others.
Estefany's very grateful to the Kiva lenders because thanks to their help she'll be able to buy construction materials and plastics, which will help her make repairs on the roof and the patio of her house. Currently it's made of reeds and rush, and doesn't offer much security.
She'll be able to continue working and making the effort to achieve her big dream of being a great pastry chef and having her own house built of appropriate materials.

About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
