Bertha Isabel's story

Bertha Isabel is 45 years old, married, and has three children. She lives with her husband and children in the canton of Ventanas in Los Ríos Province.

The Communal Bank “Dulce Sentimiento” (Sweet Sentiment) is located in the neighborhood of Caimito II in the parish of Puerto Pechiche, canton of Pueblo Viejo. The members of the Communal Bank are short-cycle farmers who grow corn, rice, and pigeon peas.

Bertha Isabel is a farmer who grows corn, rice, and pigeon peas. Her purchases and sales are conducted in the canton of Ventanas. Bertha is requesting a loan in order to buy seeds, farming supplies, urea, herbicide, fertilizers, and weed killer so that she can keep her crops in good condition.

With her previous loan, she was able to buy seeds and farming supplies such as urea, herbicide, fertilizers, and poisons in order to maintain the excellent condition of her crops. Her family is doing well because she is now able to provide a little bit more for her for her family’s well-being. Bertha is doing much better in her work since she has been able to increase production. As a result, she has more income. Her previous loan helped her to excel and she did not have any problems submitting her scheduled payments to the Cooperative.

Her dream is to buy farming machines. In her free time, Bertha Isabel enjoys reading the Bible.
