Oscar, age 41, is a government employee who works as a local council three chief. He has been in service for two years. He took up his current position after he was elected by his community members during local elections, in which he achieved a landslide victory. He and his wife have eight children and the family lives in Kagadi, Uganda.
Oscar is also a fisherman. With the proceeds of his previous loan, he has been able to build a house for the family and to venture into the produce business, which has proven to be very lucrative.
Oscar intends to use the loan to buy rice, maize, and beans to offer for sale.

This loan is part of HOFOKAM's program targeting poor and geographically excluded populations in Western Uganda.
