The Las Cuencanitas communal bank is made up of eight women and one man who live in different parts of the city of Cuenca, but their goals of succeeding in their businesses and getting their families ahead unite them. All of the group’s members are positive, happy and hardworking people. Cuenca is a city of great natural an architectural beauty. It was named as a World Heritage Site in 1999. Its people maintain their culture and traditions.

Jessica is one of the members and is very young, 19. She lives in a common law marriage and has an 8 month old son. Her husband owns a stucco factory (makes ceilings). They live in a rented home.

Jessica sells toys and works every day without a fixed schedule. She’s been doing this for three years and helps her husband in his shop when she’s not selling.

She will use the money from this loan to buy toys.

She wants to open a restaurant, since she enjoys cooking.

El banco comunal Las Cuencanitas está conformado por 8 socias y 1 socio quienes viven por diferentes lugares de la ciudad de Cuenca pero les une una meta en común la cual es superarse en sus negocios y sacar adelante a toda su familia, todos los miembros del grupo son personas positivas, alegres y luchadoras. Cuenca es una ciudad que tiene una gran belleza tanto natural como arquitectónica, es desde Diciembre de 1999 Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, su gente mantiene la cultura y tradiciones de sus pueblos.

Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señora. Jessica, es una mujer muy joven que tiene 19 años de edad, vive en unión libre y ha concebido un hijo que tiene 8 meses de edad, su esposo es propietario de un taller de estucos (fabrica cielos rasos), no tienen casa propia por lo que viven arrendando.

Doña Jessica es se dedica al comercio, vende juguetes y labora todos los días sin un horario fijo, esta actividad la desempeña hace 3 años, cuando ella no está vendiendo le ayuda a su esposo en el taller.

Su nuevo crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de juguetes.

Como le gusta el arte de la gastronomía su meta es de llegar a tener su propio restaurante.

El señor que está en extremo izquierdo de la foto no pertenece al grupo, es el esposo de una de las socias.
