Lucero is 23 years old and has a one-year-old son. She provides for him by herself, because the father of her child abandoned her shortly after he was born. Lucero wakes up every day with the motivation to do everything well in order to give her son a better quality of life, and above all to give him plenty of love and care.

Due to her limited financial resources, Lucero was only able to study until the fifth grade of secondary school, but she would have very much liked to study a culinary degree.

With plenty of effort and savings, Lucero managed to establish a business selling groceries. She works for about 10 hours and serves up to 15 customers daily. She believes that her business is going well because she is responsible and friendly to customers. Above all, she has faith in God and therefore everything is going well.

Lucero is very grateful for the Kiva lenders because thanks to their help, she will be able to buy shelves as well as merchandise for her business, such as noodles, canned food, and legumes, among others. She will then be able to better display her products and have a greater variety, which will allow her to continue fighting every day to make her greatest dream come true: that her son will become a professional and that she will have a minimarket someday.
