Martha
Martha is single and has lived in the Tropic of Cochabamba for the last 10 years, in the town of Entre Rios. Martha is from the Ichilo province in the department of Santa Cruz, one of the poorest places in Bolivia. Like the majority of people, she left her community in Puerto Avaroa, Ichilo in search of better life opportunities because production had fallen as a result of climate change which is difficult to control. This is why she decided to move to the Tropic, and in time, with a great deal of work and effort, she bought a plot of farmland where she now works in agriculture. The loan she is requesting is to expand her mandarin crop so that she can improve her standard of living. She has also been working constantly with the union which represents her economic activity.
