Edwin is a young man of 20. He lives in the city of Imperial which is known for its very varied climate and its agriculture, especially the cultivation of beans and corn, among other things. Edwin lives next door to his beloved parents whom he helps with the fruit of his labour. As money was tight, Edwin was only able to study until the first year of secondary education, but he would very much have liked to gain a qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Every day, Edwin works as farm labourer on a farm in his city and can work for 10 hours a day. He believes that he does well in his work because he is very responsible and because he has such determination to succeed and make his parents proud. Edwin is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, with the help they have given him, he will be able to buy material such as wood and plastic, among other things, which he will use to carry out repairs to the roof of his house. Now that summer is here and the rain is very heavy, this will enable him to prevent flooding. As a result, he will be able to improve his quality of life and continue striving to fulfil his great dream: "to be able to study and pursue a technical career.
