The “Jardin de Rosas” (“rose garden”) communal bank will begin its eleventh cycle with "Pro Mujer", through the Los Andes regional office. Made up of eleven members, the Jardin de Rosas group is directed by a board presided over by Marlene. The members of this communal bank have various types of businesses offering services that include: knitting blankets, selling CDs, selling babies’ clothing, blanket making, selling artisan products, selling fried potatoes and hot dogs, upholstery and a neighbourhood shop.

This loan will benefit micro businesses in Marlene's group. She says that she has been with Pro Mujer for four years, having joined following an invitation from her mother who was already a member of the communal bank. She currently has a business selling nappies, which she says she started with the support of a friend.

This loan will be used to buy nappies from the shops in the city of El Alto to sell on herself. This type of work allows her to generate financial resources for her family. She has a partner and two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the health education.

La A.C. “JARDIN DE ROSAS” iniciará el decimo primer ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Los Andes, está compuesta por once integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Marlene es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: tienda de barrio, tejido de mantas, venta de salchipapa, venta de CD’s, tapicería, venta de ropa de bebe, venta de cortes de mantas, venta de artesanías.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Marlene es integrante, ella indica que hace cuatro años que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de su madre que es socia de la institución. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de pañales, cuenta que este negocio lo emprendió con elm apoyo de su amiga.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento capital (compra de pañales) que adquirirá de las tiendas de la Ciudad de El Alto y posteriormente lo comercializará en su puesto de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos económicos para su familia pues ella vive en unión libre y tiene dos hijos.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones del área de salud.
