Lina's story

Lina, 68, is a good, friendly, and very persevering woman. She's married to Hildebrando, a merchant and the father of her two children, whom she raised and educated until they decided to become independent. Now she lives with her husband, 78, who accompanies her in life, and they share happy times. They have their own house, which she built on the plot of land she bought with the help of her husband.

Lina's job is selling staple products in her store, one of the busiest in her area. It's located in her own house and she's always there waiting to serve her customers pleasantly. Her job begins daily when she arises very early and goes to the market in search of groceries, a variety of staple food products to sell in her store. This is why her customers always go to her store, because she has the fundamental, fresh, and daily products. She also sells various brands and flavors of carbonated beverages. She started her business more than 20 years ago and up to now has had her husband's support.

She says that she enjoys doing this job and has a very good time. When she began working in this business she had some ups and downs but with a lot of effort she was able to overcome them and now she's very happy with her job. She has a lot of goals but the one she wants to achieve for now is for her store to grow so she can sell her customers a greater variety of products.

This will be her nineteenth loan with FMP. She's very happy to know that she has financial help; this way she'll feel more sure of making progress with her job. Once again she's committed to making her payments punctually, as with her previous loans. Also, she likes being part of her communal bank. She's pleased to say she's a founder and contributes to all the members being responsible and very supportive people.

With the requested amount of 2000 soles [PEN] she'll buy more merchandise and products to offer her customers: rice, sugar, milk, canned goods, and other things, as well as various brands and flavors of carbonated beverages. She'll look for the most competitive prices to increase her profit margin.
