Marisol is 27 years old. She is a living example that willpower is the only thing in life that you need to move forward.
She says that when she finished her bachelor´s degree, her grandfather loaned her a place to start her own business. With her savings, she decided to open up a corner shop, where she works laboriously everyday from 9:00 in the morning to 9:00 at night.
Marisol is a single mother with a 6 year-old daughter. Thanks to her self-employment she can dedicate as much time as necessary to her. "This is one of the greatest advantages," she says.
Her dream is to offer her daughter a higher quality education and life.
Currently, she is requesting a loan to buy stationary materials so she can meet the demands of the school season and increase her revenue.

Cuenta que cuando terminó el bachillerato su abuelo le prestó un local para que montara su propio negocio y con sus ahorros decidió crear una miscelánea, en la cual labora diariamente de nueve de la mañana a nueve de la noche.
Marisol es madre soltera de una niña de seis años de edad, a la cual puede dedicarle el tiempo necesario gracias a que labora como independiente. “Esta es una de las grandes ventajas” manifiesta ella. Su mayor sueño es poderle ofrecer a su hija una mejor calidad de vida y acceso a la educación.
En la actualidad se encuentra solicitando un crédito para la compra de insumos de papelería con el fin de poder atender la demanda de la temporada escolar y mejorar sus ingresos.
This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
