Mary is a 25-year-old Kenyan woman. She lives with her husband and one school-aged child. She is friendly and, above all, a hard-working woman. She started her tailoring business many years ago. She’s very talented at her job, especially after more than five years of experience in the same occupation. People in her town and in the surrounding areas are sure that she can offer them high quality designs at fair prices.
At times, she delivers finished garments to her customers in their homes door to door.
To provide the family with extra financial support, her husband also works and has his own business. With her requested loan from Kiva Partner Yehu, Mary will purchase new textile designs and different types of needles and thread among many other items. She seeks to open her own tailoring training unit in the future, hoping to enhance her family’s way of living.
