Nanziga Youth Devt Grp Group
In this Group: Joseph, John, Godfrey, Rebecca, Lawrence, Lydia, Patrick, Dennis, Mande, Banabas, Milly, John
Lydia is a member of Nanziga Youth Development Group. She is 42 years old, does farming and brick-making, and she has 3 grandchildren that she is taking care of . Out of the three children two of them are in school, one is in Primary 2 and is seven years old, while the other in primary 5 is 11 years old.

Lydia is hard-working and trustworthy. The major purpose in taking out a loan is to buy organic manure. With the manure, her crop yields will increase and improve. She will then be able to sell the yields and get money for upkeep and for sending her grandchildren to school.

Lydia urges her fellow village-mates to join groups and get funding because on your own you cannot achieve much and, therefore, you need others to get somewhere.

All the clients signed waiver forms and were in the picture. The group members were excited about being published on the website.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of UGAFODE's green loan program, giving Ugandan farmers the support they need to grow and process organic fruits and vegetables. Funds will be used to obtain critical resources like processing equipment, mulch and organic seedlings to reduce waste water contamination and improve consumer health. The green loan program also helps clients combat regional problems like deforestation and over-fishing.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
