Cypriano is a resident of Nkubu in Central Kenya where he lives with his wife and two children of school going age. He has been farming for thirteen years and runs his farm with the help of two farmhands. His farm produces coffee, tea, bananas and potatoes for the local markets.
He has requested a loan of 60,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to help him construct a zero grazing unit for his dairy cows. He believes his milk production will be more improved and in turn improve the living standards of the family with the better income.
Cypriano says transportation and the high cost of animal feeds during dry seasons have been the major challenges.
