Anabelle, 42, is a widow entrepreneur of Salimpono, Panaon. She has 2 children and is earning from her transport service business. It has operated for almost 2 years now and she earns about 6,000 PHP a month. To improve business, she is borrowing the amount of 16,000 PHP from GDMPC micro credit, which Anabelle just joined in 2011, to obtain accessories and tires. Anabelle is hopeful of the possibility of expanding her business before long.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
