Juan
Juan, 53, is a farmer. He lives with his wife in Sololá. He has seven children. Of his five daughters, four are married and the single one is at the basic education level in a school in the community. His two male children are married and work on their own.

He makes a living in agriculture growing onions and potatoes on his plots of land a few meters from his house. He learned this from his father when he was a little boy because he used to help him in the fields. Currently this is his main job. He began to work his own crop 25 years ago. He saw the possibilities of being independent and earning his own profits by growing these vegetables.

He's requesting a loan for 3,000 Q [GTQ, quetzales] to buy carrot seeds and fertilizer to better grow and harvest, improving his and his family's income.

He dreams of expanding his crops onto other plots of land to generate better profits for his family.
