Santos
Santos is a 34-year-old farmer. He is married and lives in Sololá. He has six children, three girls and three boys. Only four of them attend school in the community.
Santos cultivates carrots and potato on a rented plot of land a few kilometres away from his home. He learned this work from an uncle, and began working in the fields at a young age. This is now his main source of income.
He started to grow his own crops ten years ago. He saw the possibility of being independent and making his own income cultuvating vegetables. He is requesting a loan of Q 3,500 in order to buy carrot seeds and fertilizer so that he can improve his family's income.
He dreams of purchasing a plot of land so that he won't have to keep renting. He also wants to keep supporting his children and for them to stay in school.

Santos es un hombre agricultor de 34 años de edad. El está casado y vive en Sololá. El tiene seis hijos, de ellos tres mujeres y tres varones pero solo cuatro estudian en una escuela de la comunidad.

El se dedica a la agricultura cultivando zanahoria y papa en una parcela que alquila a unos kilómetros de su casa, esto lo aprendió de un tío porque trabajo con el desde pequeño en el campo de la agricultura convirtiéndose en su principal trabajo en la actualidad.
El empezó a trabajar su propio cultivo desde hace 10 años, vio las posibilidades de ser independiente y obtener su propia ganancia cultivando estas verduras. De este modo el solicita un préstamo de Q 3,500.00 para que el pueda comprar semillas de zanahoria y fertilizante para cultivar y cosecharlo mejorando sus ingresos junto a su familia.
El sueña con la compra de una parcela y no seguir pagando renta también el desea seguir apoyando a sus hijos y que sigan estudiando en la escuela.
