Maria De Jesus
View original language description ↓
Maria V. is someone who, for the past several years, has had a farming business in the El Sauce municipality of the city of León. She is very knowledgeable in the areas of agriculture and livestock, and with these endeavors she supports her humble household.

The problem in the area where Maria lives, which affects her as well as the other villagers, is the fact that they do not have electric power as it is an isolated area. They use candles for illumination, which does not afford them many advantages in their efforts to get ahead. For this reason, she has requested a solar panel with which to provide light. Upon its purchase, she turned to CEPRODEL to obtain a loan to pay for the panel. This installation will greatly help her and her family, which is composed of her four small children.

Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
