Hazel, 28, is a single woman who lives in Sta. Maria, Tangub City. Hazel owns and operates a general store, selling a variety of different products to earn a living. She has had this business for three years. Each month, she earns PHP 8,000 from her business. She has requested a loan of PHP 20,000 to buy more stock, such as eggs, noodles, shampoo, soap, and toothpaste. In 2011, Hazel joined GDMPC. In the future, Hazel wants to save a reserve for emergencies.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
