The women live for the most part in monogamous families in HAMDALLAYE, a working-class district in Sikasso City. They are on their 9th loan with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso for meeting the needs of their customers.

AOUA does commerce in shoes in this group of women. She is the one standing second from the left in the photo. She intends to use her loan to purchase about 100 pairs of plastic footwear, which she sells retail for cash locally and at the Hamdallaye market.

She envisions making an average monthly profit of 22,000 francs CFA. Part of the profits will be used to repay the loan and cover the interest, and the other part will go toward her savings.

Les quatre membres du groupe SABOUGNOUMA sont des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 33 ans, en moyenne 3 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles monogames à HAMDALLAYE un des quartiers populaires de la ville de Sikasso.
Elles sont à leur 9ème prêt avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso dans le souci de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle.
AOUA fait le commerce de chaussures dans ce groupe de femmes. Elle se tient en deuxième position de la gauche vers la droite.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt environ 100 paires de chaussures en plastique qu’elle revend en détail sur place et au marché de Hamdallaye.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients.
