Rosela, of Panduma, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, has been in the business of selling fish for more than 7 years and earns about 3,000 PHP per month. She’s 32 years old now, yet continues to hang on in her fish-selling business to provide adequately for her 4 children. She's been a member of GDMPC since 2008. In order to enhance her business, she is borrowing 5,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase more fish to sell. She hopes that someday her children will be successful in their careers.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
