Irum is a 34-year-old woman who lives in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, with her husband, daughter and son. Her husband is doing a private job. Both of the children are students.

Irum is a very hardworking and independent woman. By stitching clothes, she helps her husband meet the family's needs and her children's education expenses. Since 2007 she has been operating her business very efficiently and honestly, and her clients always appreciate her work.

Irum, as a member of a seven-person lending group, has requested for a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan. With the loan amount, she will be purchasing a new sewing machine so that she can work more efficiently in the future. As she is living in a rented house with her family, she dreams of living in her own house. She also desires to increase her business and to provide a quality education to her children. Irum and her family are very much thankful to both BRAC Pakistan and Kiva.
