Mwanaidi is a married woman who lives in the village of Tiribe in the region of Kenya. She has four children; all are currently in school. For the past five years, she has been working hard to manage her retail shop, selling paraffin.
To help expand her business, Mwanaidi has requested a loan of 10,000 Kes (Kenyan shillings) from Yehu Microfinance Trust. The loan will be used to buy more paraffin at a wholesale price and to resell at a low price to attract more customers. This will help Mwanaidi to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children and their medical bills. She hopes that in the future, she will be able to improve her family's standard of living.
