Fatuma is 35 years old. She is a young person of low income. She has five dependent children. She sells greens and a variety of vegetables from a small stall in the central market in Mwambalazi. She has a variety of customers and her workday starts at 8.00 AM. She finishes work at 6:30 PM. Fatuma’s daily routine is very tiring. She works hard every day so that she can have a better future. She wants to have more customers from the town, but she needs a little money to buy vegetables and grocery items so she can sell them from her small stall and have better earnings. This is what she most needs in order to improve the living conditions for herself and her family.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
