Maarouf is a 34-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and two young children who are attending school. He is the main income source of the family. In 2005, he decided to get involved in the car trading business. Due to his clever negotiation skills and great personality, he was able to succeed in this domain. But his finances were hardly helping him cover the high costs of living. That’s why he started to work in parallel as a showroom manager to be able to enhance his family’s way of living. Today, he is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional cars and increase his earnings. His purpose is to better develop his business. This is how Maarouf works every day to achieve his goals.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
