Murodjon
Murodjon has turned to MDO Arvand, LLC for a loan. He is married and has 3 children. Previously, he traveled to Russia to find work there, but circumstances have forced him to return home. While he was away, his family raised cattle and, from spring until autumn, cultivated various crops. After he stopped traveling to Russia, Murodjon also began raising livestock. This business brings a good profit, and the family is trying to develop it.

Murodjon is planning to use this loan to purchase animal fodder in order to continue taking care of his cattle. After fattening the animals, he will sell them at a good profit and will be able to improve his living conditions. Murodjon thanks Kiva in advance for their financial support.

About MDO Arvand

MDO Arvand is one of the leading microfinance institutions in Tajikistan, offering small loans to entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. This makes an enormous difference in a country, which is not only the poorest in Central Asia, but also home to a population where two-thirds live below the poverty line. Today, Tajikistan's economy literally depends on remittances being sent from family members working abroad in Russia because there are so few local job opportunities.

But Arvand loans have been able to make a difference and change lives. Read about some of the incredible success stories they have seen here in this Kiva blog post: Bringing hope to Tajikistan with Arvand -- one success story at a time.
