Noa Synam, 27 years old, lives in Kampong Cham Province. Since 1995 she has run a small grocery store, earning about $3 per day. From their home her husband sells a hot soup that is typically eaten for breakfast with tea by Khmers on their way to work. He has had this small restaurant since 1998 and earns about $4 per day. They have one child, a good student at the local elementary school. With the loan they hope to be able to purchase extra tables and chairs to seat more customers each morning and benefit both their businesses.
