A native of Nazca, Peru, Maritza is a very hard-working young woman. She completed her primary education in Peru, and then began working. She currently works 11 hours a day in a restaurant as she tries to make ends meet. In addition to her work, she is responsible and attentive to her customers.
She began working in the restaurant out of necessity, but now she has a desire to start her own business. She would like to test her entrepreneurial skills by selling clothes and Christmas toys to her neighbors and work colleagues. If she feels confident in her abilities as a business woman and salesperson, she would like to start a business.
Maritza dreams of having a better life, and is willing to put in the hours to get there. She thanks her Kiva lenders for giving her a chance to give herself a better life.
