Manuel is a 23-year-old male living in Ica, Peru. Ica is the capital city of the Ica region, a desert coastal region to the west of the Andes Mountains. Manuel studied in a local university and is a tutor for elementary school students. Giving lessons out of his family home, he is trying to save up to become an environmental engineer.
Daily, Manuel tutors for 5-7 hours to students of all different levels. However, despite the time commitment, it is difficult for Manuel to provide the kind of quality lessons he wants to give because of a lack of resources. He would like to obtain a Kiva loan in order to purchase materials for his students, be it an extra desk or more educational materials. He believes this loan will give him a better quality of life.
Manuel dreams of working for an oil company and eventually owning his very own house. He is very grateful to the lenders who enable him to continue pursuing his dreams.
