Thy is 31 years old and lives in Battambang province's Ek Phnom district in Cambodia. He is married and a father of four dependent children. Some of his children are currently in school.
Thy earns a living through farming rice and planting beans. This will be his first time requesting a loan via VisionFund (Kiva's partner). Thy is seeking a loan of 3,000,000 KHR in order to support his business by buying fertilizer. After receiving the requested loan and using it in a smart manner, Thy believes that he can increase his income and improve his family’s standard of living. He is also willing to use the anticipated income to further educate his beloved children.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
