Hosea is a 38-year-old, married man with five children living in Kagadi, Uganda. He is a teacher who was inspired into that profession by the urge to inspire young people. He also owns a coffee plantation which he runs to supplement his low salary. He wishes to educate his children at the university level and to build a permanent house since they are currently renting. His business plan is to expand his coffee plantation by buying more land. Hosea is requesting for a loan to buy iron sheets for roofing his house.
About Housing Loans
Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
